I am Jessica Custodio, the Sharing Love Doula! I am a Jesus lover, wife and mother to 4 beautiful children. I am a *CACHE Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Elite NCS™, Labor and Postpartum Doula, Lactation Educator and Parent Coach. I share LOVE by supporting families during birth and postpartum.
As far back as I can remember I have always felt mesmerized by birth and babies!
I first witnessed labor and delivery when I was only 12 years old! My mother gave birth to my baby sister, April and that is when I fell in love with tiny humans! It was an indescribable feeling and I knew I wanted more. Tragically, my little sister was born without kidneys; a rare and fatal condition called Potter's Syndrome and passed not long after her birth. I was devastated (I may not have completely understood what was happening at the time) but in that moment I was most concerned with the well-being of my mother and caring for her came naturally!
Through LOSS came my PASSION: an incredible fire was ignited inside of me!
Over the past 20 years I have been a part of many more births, including 3 of my own. With a Doula present for my third child Santiago, I had my VBA2C (vaginal birth after two cesareans). Not long after his birth, another fire ignited that I could not ignore. I discovered my passion: Birth work! And now here I am!
I am most passionate about supporting parents with their transition into parenthood by offering encouragement, education and a non-judgmental listening ear. I love pregnancy, labor, birth and BABIES! I am an advocate of Sharing Love and supporting families right where they are!
Now, let's join together to make your birth and postpartum period remarkable!
After answering my calling to serve, I am proud to call myself a Doula! I will support you during pregnancy, labor, birth and after! I believe that giving birth is a moment in time where your body and baby make the rules. The support of a Doula is monumental and I am passionate about supporting families during such an amazing and miraculous event. I love being a Doula because I am able to be in such an intimate space allowing me to take part in a miracle. My model of service is to allow my client to take the lead.
I am the person encouraging and giving them that tiny push needed to feel empowered and to have the confidence to make those tough decisions that otherwise may not be made.
